The landman represents the gas company in negotiating acquisition of a ROW on your land. The landman is not a realtor, nor an attorney, and is compensated by the company he or she represents.
He or she does not represent the landowner and the landowner therefore should consult local realtors, county records and perhaps an attorney regarding property values and landowner rights.
Allegations by gas company representatives that a landowner does not have the right to either negotiate or to refuse to sell an easement are false.
Harassment by landmen has occurred and should be reported to local authorities and the gas company.
